Detroit, MI Supercharger

I stopped by the Tesla Supercharger at the Meijer on 8 Mile in Detroit and had a great experience. The location is very convenient right off 8 Mile Road with plenty of charging stalls, and it’s open 24/7 which makes it easy anytime you need a quick charge.

Charging speeds were strong and consistent, and I didn’t have to wait long to plug in. The best part is having Meijer right there—perfect spot to grab food, groceries, or walk around while the car charges.

Overall, this is a reliable and well-located Supercharger station. Clean setup, easy access, and very practical for anyone driving an EV in the area.

Why Tesla drivers are compelled to wait for other non-Tesla vehicles? This situation should not be the norm. It is imperative to establish an adequate number of charging stations to ensure that all Tesla owners can conveniently charge their vehicles. I urge Tesla to investigate this matter. It is unjust that Tesla drivers are forced to endure long wait times simply to charge their vehicles due to the charging needs of other non-Tesla cars.

Wow this charger was super busy on a Sunday morning. The first charger I tried using did not work and never started charging, but the next one I tried worked great. We walked around inside Meijer to pass the time while we charged. No complaints and no true issues here.

This Tesla charging station was fine until these other EV companies started charging here and as well random large business electric car company’s. It’s getting ridiculous where 2/3 of are stalls will be taken up by these other cars at very busy times and we cant charge vehicles and we’re the one paying for the stalls. Are vehicles are minuim should be priority or these company’s should not be allowed to charge. They look ridiculous parking their larger vehicles at these odd angles to fit the charger station and some of them park sideways blocking Evan more spaces.

I'd say this SC was at half capacity on the Friday morning I charged. No issues, as usual. There are also new spaces coming online soon (see pic).
