We stay at lots of Fairfield Inns and now that we have an EV we pick hotels with chargers. There are four pay EV Chargers. A Chevy Bolt was there charging when we pulled up. We arrived at about a 78 percent charge and we charged to 95%. We don’t expect to fully charge at a hotel but want to top off so we start the next day ready for a long drive. With four pay EV chargers my guess is that you will be able to charge while staying here. The chargers are 6.25kW max but they might be shared which would give only 3kW per EV. The cables are long so any EV could charge no matter where the charge port on the car is located. Having an Idle fee keeps some people from parking here but it only works if the car has already started a charging session. It doesn’t fix Icing issues. Since the chargers are on the far side of the parking lot these are not the best spots to park so that helps. The last Fairfield Inn we stayed at that had EV charging had two free chargers but non-EVs parked in those spots blocking us from charging. I want to know if I can charge at the hotel. I understand that the hotel doesn’t want the additional responsibility of managing the charging but if they want EV drivers to stay they need to help manage the charging. Having only been driving an EV for four months, I’m surprised at EVs Icing other EVs (plugged in but not charging or they don't move after being charged).
