Heathrow, UK - Terminals 2 & 3 Supercharger

Staying in the hotel so parking charge isn't an issue (if you are coming here to charge only, why wouldnt you be charged a parking fee??) The issue is we have had to come back out to move the car 3 times after it suddenly stops charging. This happened when we stayed last month too.  Each time then having a battle with taxi drivers and non residents to get a space.

Waited ages (40 minutes), so many cars using the wrong chargers  as the leads aren't long enough to do both sides. By the time you have waited and charged you have to pay £12.50 on exit if the car park. A lot of private hire and cheaffeur drivers in Merc and BMW's so nearly every charging station that becomes available doesn't fit a Tesla or any car on the rear left where these chargers were designed to charge to .

The entrance to chargers is £6.50! I tried validate my ticket in the hotel, but they didn’t do it. It’s a joke

Fast charging! Parking fee is a pain but consider the location it’s not surprising, only 7min from terminal 2:3. I went to up for collection, within 20min my Tesla was 80% plan and off peak rate is reasonable. Non tesla users can use it, in fact most users were non-tesla taxis! It did fill up quickly after 7am! It worked for me as short stay car park is more expensive. Not ideal but grateful to have the option without going too far from the terminals.

⚠️ EV Owners Beware – Avoid Tesla Supercharger at Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel (TW6 2AQ)

If you're a Tesla or EV owner, think twice before using the Tesla Supercharger located at the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel, Bath Road, Hounslow TW6 2AQ.

While the charging rates themselves appear reasonable—particularly during off-peak hours—the hidden cost comes from the mandatory hotel parking fee, which can amount to over 75% of your total charging cost. This means you're often paying double what you would elsewhere just to top up your battery.

To make matters worse, you must go inside the hotel to register and wait, turning a quick charge into a time-consuming and frustrating process. When visiting, I noticed only 2 or 3 chargers in use out of the many available—unsurprising given that most drivers are clearly avoiding this location due to the unjustifiable costs.

Unlike a petrol station, where parking while refuelling is free, EV drivers here are penalised simply for charging. This setup makes absolutely no sense and feels like a cash grab, not a service.

Worryingly, the hotel management does not care, and Tesla UK has shown zero interest in resolving or even acknowledging the issue. It's clear that profit—not sustainability or customer service—is the priority for everyone involved at this site.

💡 Better Alternatives:
Use Tesla Service Centres, which usually offer free parking while charging.

If considering an EV, ensure you have a driveway at home for your own charge point—the only way to avoid these unnecessary obstacles.

Until such practices are addressed, this Supercharger site should be avoided entirely. EV drivers deserve transparency, fair pricing, and genuine support—not exploitation disguised as sustainability.
