One of the fast chargers has been broken for months. The other one only sometimes works. Southpoint nearby is a much better option.

I had to remove the automatic Plug-and-Charge feature from my FordPass app and pay via a credit card to get the charger to work. I tried 3 stations, and each time, the app said "Charging Started" but nothing happened, and I got an error message after 3 minutes.

I was disappointed that 2 of 4 stations were working. Also not listed on Google maps. I drove around the shopping area for 15 minutes looking g for the charging station. Luckily I wasn't late to return to the car rental.

Helpful charging location in a busy part of town. It wasn’t immediately obvious which charger was 350kW (probably because I don’t often use EVgo stations), and one of them was inoperable. Was able to get in and out before the rush, but it would be difficult to wait for others to be done and not be in the way.

Title: The Pros and Cons of Owning an Electric Vehicle Introduction: The advent of electric vehicles (EVs) has revolutionized the automotive industry, offering an alternative to traditional gasoline-powered cars. As the world grapples with the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation, EVs have emerged as a promising solution. However, like any technological innovation, EVs come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages. This essay will explore the benefits and negatives of owning an EV, shedding light on the potential impact of these vehicles on our lives and the environment. I. Benefits of Owning an EV: A. Environmental Advantages: 1. Reduced Carbon Emissions: EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating air pollution. 2. Renewable Energy Integration: EVs can be charged using renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind power, further reducing their carbon footprint. B. Cost Savings: 1. Lower Fuel Costs: EVs are more energy-efficient than internal combustion engine vehicles, resulting in lower fuel costs and potential long-term savings. 2. Reduced Maintenance: EVs have fewer moving parts, eliminating the need for regular maintenance associated with traditional vehicles, such as oil changes and engine tune-ups. C. Technological Advancements: 1. Enhanced Performance: EVs offer instant torque, providing a smooth and responsive driving experience. 2. Advanced Features: Many EVs come equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including regenerative braking, autonomous driving capabilities, and advanced infotainment systems. II. Negatives of Owning an EV: A. Limited Driving Range: 1. Range Anxiety: The limited range of EVs can cause anxiety among drivers, as they may fear running out of battery power before reaching their destination. 2. Charging Infrastructure: The availability and accessibility of charging stations remain a challenge, especially in rural areas, potentially limiting long-distance travel. B. Longer Charging Times: 1. Time Constraints: Charging an EV takes significantly longer than refueling a traditional vehicle, which can be inconvenient for those with busy schedules or long commutes. 2. Charging Infrastructure: The need for widespread charging infrastructure development is crucial to alleviate concerns regarding charging times and accessibility. C. Environmental Concerns: 1. Battery Production: The production of EV batteries requires the extraction of rare earth minerals, which can have negative environmental impacts if not managed responsibly.
