Decent speed at 38 kwh . NOT a DC fast charger ! Next to shopping a plus

Drove to Kissimmee yesterday. The 3 nearest EVGo locations were all down (still down as of now, according to app). I had to drive 45 minutes to the next nearest location where the app indicated 3 of 4 chargers were available. However, upon arrival, 1 charger was down and the other 3 were in use, even though the app still showed 3 of 4 chargers available. These types of charging problems are killing EV acceptance. Perhaps, that is their actual goal? If so, they are doing a fantastic job!

Same experience as all non-Tesla chargers. Wayyy too much friction and never what they claim. Have to get their app, which is annoying traveling and this is the 5th charging app I’ve downloaded, I digress… then tout 50kW charger and never get past 17 to 18kW. Still faster than other chargers but definitely not a fast charger or the 50kW they tout. Wishing condos and hotels just had a bank of 3-10 Tesla home chargers that they charge us $15/day or something to use.

This was my first time using a DC fast charger and I didn't have an EVGo RFID card or account. So, I called the customer service number posted on the charging station, gave them the charger number and my credit card information and they got me going in just a couple of minutes. The charger was in good working order and there was no one else there. When I got home I signed up for an account, which is free. In my area it costs about $0.35 per minute for the DC fast charge with no monthly charges. They have another option where you can pay about 31 cents per minute but that requires a small monthly fee and includes a certain amount of free minutes.

Love this charger station! Never has any problems, plenty of parking, and has a great restaurant and shops right next to it! Never have to worry about getting "ICED" here, never had a problem with that and have been here at least six times with my i3. Love that fast charger!
