Not sure why this is rated so low. Easy to access in a private parking lot with plenty of spaces, clearly marked. Next to the Van der Valk Hotel, which has a restaurant and toilet facilities. Walking distance from the train station and city centre, providing you with easy access to shops and restaurants. One hour free parking for Tesla charging.

It is chaos… the first time on our entire France, Spain, and Portugal tour that it is difficult. Van der Valk has a parking problem, meaning regular cars are parked in the charging spots. The indicated number of available charging spots is therefore a huge overestimation! Of the 12 spots, only 1 was available... also a huge hassle driving in and out. Clean toilets at Van der Valk though, and a good brasserie option.

It is at a Van Der Valk hotel; have your parking ticket validated for free at the reception. Clean toilets. However, non-electric vehicles are also parked in the Tesla parking spaces, but fortunately there are plenty of charging stations.

From 16 stations only 4 Tesla charging and the rest are occupied as parking

Free parking for 3 hours. Not busy but a little hard to find. Take the lane to the right of the hotel. Get a ticket and use it to exit. Don't go into the underground car park. It's basically behind the hotel.

Great spot to recharge ! You need to grab a ticket for the parking however it is valid for 3 hours . Fabulous cafe / restaurant to recharge yourself

Gas cars aren't even bothering to park properly anymore, even with available spots. They're constantly hogging EV charging spaces and are aggressive towards Tesla owners

What a mess at Van Der Valk in Bergen (Mons). It is a stately hotel, admittedly, but via a dark side lane you navigate through the puddles of the day to the desolate back of the hotel building. That is where the 16 250kW charging stations are located, for which I made a detour. The first supercharger is 6 times !! slower than I should expect (see photo from Feb 10, 2025). So I parked at another supercharger. That one didn't work at all. I had never seen that before. So I moved again and picked a third charging station on a whim. This one works normally. Another customer tells me laconically that there have always been problems. Never again Mons and never again Van Der Valk. I had already written off Van Der Valk Brussels Airport. Maybe I should consider a second subscription after all…

Update 4/10/24: BMW is one of my favorite car manufacturer. You know what could make it my number 1 ? Put your charging port on the right side of your EVs... 😉 News: VDV closed the parking lot, and reserved it for the clients only. Hopefully, this will reduce the amount of squatters 👍 Just get a ticket and scan it within 3h to get out. I raise the note to 2* today. If things get better I'll review that judgment. 23/11/24: Well, half of the charging stations are still blocked by ICEV, so back to 1* 🤬

This supercharger is not sufficiently separated from the rest of the hotel parking lot, so multiple non-EVs occupy the charging spots.
