Old Fort, NC Supercharger

Stores are closed due to fire. Two portapotties that are filled to the brim with you know what, lots of flies and filthy condition. Would NOT recommend.

There are several Tesla and Electrify America superchargers with pull through slots at this location. I've used both several times with no issues.

The convenience store/Exxon/Stuckeys/Dairy Queen is still closed and boarded up due to a fire, but honestly it was an absolute dump before and poorly maintained so there is really no love loss to anyone there.

Hopefully someone will refresh this location (or tear it completely down and build new). There could be a lot of money to be made in the right hands with the proper amenities offered and proper maintenance and cleaning completed on a regular basis.

THERE IS NO BATHROOM, SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY!

No bathrooms available here. Chargers are good, but Stuckey's and DQ Grill & Chill still closed due to fire.

The chargers were great and easy to find but the restrooms in the store are unavailable and the porta potty outside was gross.  My husband (who used the porta potty) has done his best to avoid using the restroom here from now on.  We have used this supercharger 3x since we have been in the area (Lake Lure) this week and other than the restroom situation, it's a great location and charging has been fine.  I had read the reviews before we came, so I was prepared not to use the restroom!

This is a gem of a Supercharger with 12x fast charging stalls ( v3 / 250kw) and hardly any traffic. You won't be competing for spots or waiting for long, you just pull in, plug in, and shop at Stuckey's for a bit. It's also got the best view of any Supercharger I stopped at off I-40, which makes it a fabulous day-time stop.  At night, Stuckey's is all there is so it gets lonely fast. The store closes after 9 PM, so you lose access to the toilets and the Dairy Queen inside (if it's late and you can make it to Hickory or Asheville, I suggest you go there).

Speaking of toilets, that's my only real CON about this place. The toilets were terrible the last time I stopped here. Even if they were to be freshly serviced, the bathroom itself feels like it'll never be that be clean (or dry). On the other hand, it looks like there are showers available if you ask. I've definitely stopped at more welcoming Stuckey's though.  PROs? Cheap candy, and Stealth Bombers to keep you occupied (if you're not driving).
