Rotorua, NZ Supercharger

Great location, right next to the shopping centre. Carls Jr, Burger King, Maccas etc just a few metres from the charger.

Charging at 70kw with 3 Teslas charging at the same time. Cheaper that the ChargeNet nearby, 71c vs 90c

Great stop. 6 bays and no waiting. Lots of facilities nearby. Burger King, Cobb &Co, Pizza Hut, Just Kebab and. Pak ‘n Save for that bigger grocery shop. 10/10. Note CCS only connection.

I am unbelievably pissed as a Tesla owner, I planned my trip based on the existence of a Tesla super charger in Rotorua. It turns out that there are 6 new style Tesla plugs (CCS2) and none for generation 1 cars with just the Type 2 plug (new teslas can charge with CCS2 or Type 2, older cars can only charge with Type 2 plugs). I will probably have to get towed

Used the Rotorua stop several times to charge and never had any issues. I’ve only ever seen 2 other vehicles charging when we’ve arrived. Quick turn around and a mall next door to walk around and grab some food / coffee.
