Love's in Ritzville is always a zoo, so I was surprised that on a busy travel day I was able to get the last open charging stall without a wait. However there were several other people after that had to wait quite a bit. The process of getting the charge going was simple, though I didn't like that I couldn't seem to stop charging from the cabinet and had to get into my car to tell the car to stop before the connector would unlock from my car's charge port. The only thing I really disliked was the price. At over 5 times normal residential electric rates, it puts the cost at near parity with gasoline for a similar sized gas vehicle, fueled at the same station, on a per mile driven basis. If gas were must less expensive, fueling a small SUV would have been cheaper (and faster, and more convenient). I understand that it will always be more expensive to fast charge. but this site was more expensive than any of the fast chargers I used in the Seattle area the week prior, where you expect things to generally cost significantly more. Given that Eastern Washington has some of the cheapest electricity in the country, it rankles a bit that this location charges what they do.

Easy to pull into the spaces and charge. Rates at 4/7/26 were .55c per KW. Max charge rate of 180KW on each stall, or 90KW if two vehicles are plugged in. Love's has bathroom, shower, small store, and a Carl's Jr inside.

The EV chargers here seem nice - covered, window washing available - but there’s a catch. There’s no shutoff. Every other EV charger I’ve ever used has a “stop charge” button, but not this one. Given that current EVs charge much more slowly as they get up to full, it’s standard on road trips to not charge to full. But if you want to do that here, you’ll need to come up with your own way to stop the charging, by calling into ChargePoint, using your car’s emergency shutoff, etc. I guess they expect you to use the app, but tapping credit card is so much easier, given the dozen+ apps you’d need to cover all the charging companies. Paying for charging needs to work like paying for gas.

This is probably uncommon but the station shut off (overhead lights and everything) for a minute and chargers went offline. It’s likely they auto-reset after a while, but I went to the Electrify America nearby and charged there instead… which ended up being a faster charge anyway.

I was able to charge quickly and easily with my Honda Prologue. Very clean machines, and it wasn't busy when I arrived. It's very well-lit at night, easy to find, and in a safe location right inside the parking lot at Love's gas station. Carl's Jr is located inside the gas station and within 100 feet of the chargers, and there's a couple other restaurants around the area to eat as well. Great place to stop between Tri-Cities and Spokane.
