Springfield, IL - South Dirksen Parkway Supercharger

16 superchargers, well maintained, conveniently located on site of County Market  parking lot. Availability was not an issue.

Quick charge and no waiting. Not sure why little expensive than other superchargers.

The area is run down. If you are going to have Tesla chargers then there should be sufficient bathrooms to handle. Also guy came to ever car begging for money. One of the chargers is missing back panel.

This Tesla supercharger is located in the county market parking lot. Later in the evening, there will be nobody here. Expect to be approached by panhandlers. The area is a little sketchy, so this isn’t a great location for the supercharger. Nextdoor is a Burger King, but if you need to go to the bathroom later in the evening, you’ll have to drive five minutes to the Circle K, as the nearby gas stations are closed. The supercharger averages 128 kW.

The chargers are great and it is right off the highway. Not crowded either time I used it when traveling from Saint Louis to Chicago and back. However, the squeegee’s streaked up the windows and left them more dirty than before they were cleaned and they didn’t have paper towels either time.
