Staunton, VA - Richmond Avenue Supercharger

Lots of charging ports here at the Sheetz convenience store location. But also pretty busy. There were six cars already in use. But a couple of ports were available.

Only had my Tesla two weeks and was expecting 18 to 19 minute charge times based on Tesla’s brochures. But apparently that has to be super high-speed charging spots.
I’m only getting 74 kW of charge. It’s taking 50 minutes to go from 20% to 80%. That’s not fast, in fact I think it’s quite slow.

Nice location in a Sheetz parking lot free Mercury Wi-Fi allow me to get the latest update.  2025.38.9.5 😊

Charged Up and Road-Ready in the Model Y

Stopped here to charge my Tesla Model Y during a road trip. It was fairly busy when I arrived, but I was glad to find two open spots. Super convenient setup—grabbed a snack, stretched my legs, and "watered the horse" (if you know, you know).

Plenty of perks while you wait: trash cans to clean out the car, overhead lighting that makes you feel safe even after dark, and a Sheetz right there in the lot for food, drinks, and a bathroom break. There's even a small grassy patch behind the chargers, perfect if you're traveling with a pet that needs a walk.

Free Wi-Fi from Sheetz was a nice bonus while I topped off the battery. Only downside? No shade, so it can get a bit toasty in the sun. Also, if you’re coming in from the highway, expect a left turn at a light.

Overall, a solid spot to recharge both you and your EV. Would definitely stop again.

Trash cans so you can empty the car as well as overhead Street lighting so you feel safe at night. In the Sheetz parking lot so you've got bathroom and food options. There's a small grassy area directly behind the chargers where you can take a pet for a walk. Free WiFi from Sheetz. Left turn if you're coming from the highway so you will have to wait at a light. There's no shady areas around the charging region

It’s wonderful that Staunton offers a Tesla Supercharger station.  Today was my first time using one here.  The only thing is that 10 minute general parking signs are posted here, so that non-electric vehicles also can park here.  Fortunately, there was an open charger available for me to use right away upon arrival.
