Baker Market

Site is located in the western portion of the parking lot.

Ultra Gas and Mart (Baker, CA)

This is the one stop I always make when I’m driving to Las Vegas or heading back to Los Angeles, and it has never let me down. The location is consistently reliable, which is exactly what you want during a long road trip. All I have to do is pull in, plug in my EV, and let it charge while I take a break from the drive. I’ve never experienced any issues with the charging stations—they’re always available when I need them and work smoothly every time.

What really makes this stop stand out is the convenience factor. Right next door, there’s a Dairy Queen and a convenience store, which makes the charging time feel less like a wait and more like a chance to relax and recharge myself. Whether I’m grabbing a quick snack, a cold drink, or just stretching my legs, everything I need is within easy reach. It turns what could be a boring pause into a pleasant and enjoyable part of the trip.

Over time, this stop has become part of my routine whenever I make this drive. It’s dependable, easy, and comfortable, which is all I can ask for on the road. As long as I continue driving an EV, I’ll keep coming back here without hesitation.

Perfect timing for a brunch stop. The hubby and I did the drive through at Castaneda's Mexican Food and took it to Electrify America charging station to charge our vehicle. There is a gas station and food places with restrooms and even a Dog park. Wish the restrooms were larger or could handle more people. However the staff is nice and helpful. There are Tesla charging stations also.
If we have to charge in Baker again will definitely do the drive-thru and sit in our car to recharge the whole family.

A must stop for super fast charge my VinFast VF8 Plus 2024 (Neptune Grey). There are 12 stalls and we have been here twice without having to wait. Public restrooms is available. The facility is clean and there is a Dairy Queen nearby, perfect for desert heat.

Stopped at an Electrify America station on my way to Vegas, and it was super convenient. The chargers were easy to use and worked without any issues. The location was clean and had plenty of chargers available, so no waiting around. Perfect spot to recharge both the car and myself before hitting the road again!

The problem here is that you don’t know what you’re getting. One machine charges at 150kwh and the machine next to it runs at 60kwh. As usual 25% of chargers are down. So 9outbof 12 are usually functioning. Contrast that to the 40+ machines for Tesla.
