AI Overview
Chargers are located on the east side of the Walmart parking lot near the pickup area. The lot is illuminated with pull-in parking and can accommodate trailers. Drivers report inconsistent reliability — some chargers frequently go offline, and several recent visits involved one or more stalls being unavailable. One charger reportedly has a very narrow parking space.

Only 1 chademo out of all the plugs. And of course it's broken. Customer service said tough luck maybe it will be fixed someday. As of May 2026

I've had trouble with the chargers at the Newport Walmart Three times now. Yesterday two of the fast chargers were down. Then when I went to use the 150 speed charger, I had difficulty getting the app to work for a little while. Needless to say, it's frustrating that electric car charging is so few and far between and where I live there are a lot of people with electric cars now. Thankfully. Normally I'm able to just charge at home And I've been doing that since 2020. But sometimes you have to charge in the world and I will be happy when I see an improvement in what is available. I was able to charge my car after fumbling around for quite a while.

No one else at the entire bank of chargers. Plugged into the 350 kW charger, and for the first ten minutes it peaked at 80 kW, then fell to 68 kW. Now it’s crept up to 109 kW. I don’t mind paying a premium for fast charging, because sometimes I’m in a hurry. I just wish that for the premium, we actually got what we were paying for.

If you have the electrify America app this is pretty easy to use. When I was there, there were four chargers, two were in use (counting me) and one was marked unavailable. I do appreciate that the screen says unavailable as opposed to having to find that out by trial and error.

I figure I've used every "pump" at least once. Aside from one being briefly unavailable the other day, they're fairly consistent. I'm able to keep up with the demands of EV travel while stopping in at the Walmart for necessities and a quick restroom. Good placement, solid equipment, acceptable price. I'll give it 5 stars someday when Electrify America gets around to installing a roof overhead. Would that be so difficult?
