The Boneyard

Located on the back of the Walmart Parking Lot where the Pharmacy Drive-thru and Pick up areas are.

Walmart 2335 - Madison, WI

0 stars would match the number of chargers that were properly functioning. The first 3 (of 4 total) chargers that I tried, despite being marked ULTRA or HYPER fast, delivered a max of 30 kw/h. Yes, it was cold out, but 15 degrees F in Wisconsin in the winter is just a day. It can get that cold anywhere from October to March, and a charger that can't be relied upon six months out of the year is worthless. The 4th charger didn't work at all and the plug got stuck in my charging port for reasons I won't bore you with, but suffice it to say that the customer service representative who was clearly in a call center on the other side of the planet took 45 minutes trying to figure out how to solve the problem. I left after 90 minutes with less charge than I started with.

Charging speed is wildly variable. Chargers could easily be made drive through. No queing system (which drive through would solve), no trash receptacle. Typical of all EA (and other) charging stations.

This worked great! Used Charger 03.
Most chargers are 350kw. Number 03 was only 150kw and worked great for me. The only catch is the price of 56cents a kWh! Dam everywhere else around here is cheaper…..

Good, usual EA experience, but extremely expensive.  Consider charging at the HyVee in Janesville for $12/hr.  I paid more than double that here with EA.  I did get my usual 70kW charging rate for my car.  One of the stations was down, so I had to wait about 5 minutes.  Need to add more stations here.

Wow, nothing working except one charger, and posts everywhere required wonky parking to make that work. Pull-through designs are so much easier. Sadly this level of reliability and non-customer-focused design is why EA does not have a great reputation.
