Wangaratta, VIC Supercharger

Easy to find (don’t pay attention to other reviews, they have signs everywhere, so it’s impossible to miss the way to the charger), works perfectly for a quick lunch stop on a way from Sydney to Melbourne.

Worst place to charge when travelling from Melbourne to Sydney. Had to drive an extra 20 km into a small town just to find the charging station. Only 4 charging pods available, and they’re very hard to locate, having to drive up to the top floor. No toilets or shops nearby while waiting and hard to find an exit from rooftop. It would be far more convenient to have a charging station located closer to the Hume Highway.

It’s located on the rooftop with zero shade. Sitting in a Tesla under 37°C direct sunlight is unbearable because of the glass roof. The facilities (restrooms) are too far, and getting out of the mall is a nightmare. This is the worst charging experience I’ve had at a shopping center.

The Tesla Supercharger facility at 86-88 Ovens Street, Wangaratta, VIC 3677 is a key fast-charging site in regional Victoria. This station features four Supercharger stalls, each capable of delivering up to 250 kW, making it suitable for rapid top-ups and long-distance travel.

Operating 24 hours a day, the station offers round-the-clock access, allowing Tesla drivers to conveniently charge at any time.   The pricing is set at A$0.52 per kWh, with additional congestion fees of up to A$0.50 per minute in busy periods.

Located in the heart of Wangaratta’s central business district, the site is accessible and well placed for both local residents and travellers.   Its position on Ovens Street means that users can easily combine charging with other activities, whether running errands, grabbing a bite, or exploring the town. Parking in the nearby Co-Store carpark also supports easy access.

For Tesla owners, this Supercharger enhances the convenience of EV travel in northeastern Victoria, bridging gaps between major charging hubs. Given its high power capacity and 24/7 availability, it’s not only practical for daily driving needs but also supports long regional journeys.

4 chargers on the third floor (open rooftop). Low ceiling clearance to access means this would not be not suitable for mounted bikes on car roof.

This is part of the shopping centre carpark. Use the EasyPark app to pay (approx $1/hr).

Shopping centre has limited food options within but includes clean bathrooms, cinema, Target, Reject Shop. There are cafes in the surrounding streets.
