It's very cold here in Woodridge-8 eight but the charging unit is working

The chargers work well with certain cars.
This photo was taken this past winter when I visited Chicago and Downers Grove. There are not a lot of locations to charge in the Illinois area. This car took an hour plus, and the power from the chargers slows down. I love EV, but evgo needs to up the power and add more locations. This is why I love tesla. The chargers are faster.

Egregiously slow charging. Apparently there are faster chargers but there isn’t any signage that indicates which ones are better than others. Stick with Tesla, there’s a reason they lead the industry.

This location was at the dealership.  I was given an electric car as a loaner and just drove it from the dealership to home and was called and asked to come back and swap it for a gas car.   I was told the 1st hour of charging was free.   When I arrived and plugged the car in, it said it would take 23 minutes to fully charge.   I walked into the dealership, handed them my key, and said the car would be fully charged in 23 minutes and it was currently at the charging station.

I was told no problem, they would take care of the rest, and was handed the key to the other car and left.

4 days later, I returned the loaner to pick up my SUV and all seemed to be ok... until I got my credit card statement.   EVGO charged me $75.14 to fully charge my loaner.

I called and questioned why and was told the dealership never took the car off the charger.  So, even though it was fully charged in 23 minutes, this no-good company continued to charge my credit card for more than 14.5 hours (when the car was fully charged).

They said they would investigate and call me back, but they never did.   I called and spoke to Hyundai and they said they didn't own the charging station so they had nothing to do with it (yeah, Hyundai sucks too).

I asked to speak to a manager.   No one called me back.  I eventually spoke to George (service manager) who understood my complaint and asked him for an email stating that they were responsible for not unplugging the vehicle that was fully charged 23 minutes later and that I should not have to pay.

He ended up escalating my call and the following day, received an email from evgo stating they were reversing the charges.

So, buyer beware, regardless if it takes 15, 30, or 45 minutes to charge your car, you will be charged for every minute your car is on the charger, regardless if it's truly charging or not.
